i know you get paid in basic and tech school, but what happens after? will you only get paid for drill, or do you get paid the 1649.70 as an E3 monthly plus drill? and what happens to your status, are you still considered active duty?I heard that after you leave tech school for the Air National Guard u only get Paid for the drills is dat true?
They are not going to pay you to not work.
You are no longer active duty so no, you will not receive the $1649.70I heard that after you leave tech school for the Air National Guard u only get Paid for the drills is dat true?
the others are correct, once out of tech school, you revert to traditional status, but in adition to AGR, you may be able to find a state technician position at your unit. these pay on a different scale than the enlisted pay schedule, but have better beni's. also, if you wanna do more active duty, ask your super to contact other units preparing to deploy, you might be able to back fill thier shops, but be warned that this will not exempt you from deploying should you be mobilized.
No, you definitely do NOT get paid $1649.70. You are just that - a guardsman (the same applies for reservists) - not active duty. You only do one weekend a month. Why would you get paid the same amount as someone who works full time? Think about it, does that make sense to you?
You usually have the option to go active guard/reserve, but if you are just going once a month/2 weeks a year, then you get paid around $200 a weekend.
Nope. You are guard, that means they pay you for the service that you do. Why would you think that someone would get the same pay as an Active Airman doing only two days of drill? It is only the drill pay that you get, not monthly plus.
